Professor Matt Davis recently appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Dough to discuss how working patterns and workplaces are changing in the context of hybrid working, digital communication, and the growing use of AI.

The programme explored current debates about the future of the office, including the shift towards more collaborative and social workspaces, alongside evidence that a large proportion of work — both at home and in the office — is still carried out individually. The discussion highlighted the implications this has for job design, performance, learning, and employee wellbeing.

Drawing on research in organisational psychology and workplace behaviour, Matt contributed insights on how organisations can balance flexibility and efficiency with the need for trust, development, and meaningful interaction at work.

The episode aired on BBC Radio 4 on 12 March 2026 and is available to listen to via BBC Sounds and other podcast platforms.
