Professor Matthew Davis to deliver keynote for the Government Occupational Psychology Profession

Professor Matthew Davis will deliver a keynote presentation for the UK Government Occupational Psychology Profession on Wednesday 17 June.

The Government Occupational Psychology Profession brings together occupational psychology practitioners working across the UK Civil Service, spanning a wide range of government departments, roles and areas of practice.

Matthew’s talk, From People to Systems: The Role of Organisational Psychology in Keeping Organisations Fit for the Future, will explore how organisational psychology can help government organisations respond to profound changes in work, technology and employee expectations.

Drawing on his research into work design, hybrid working and socio-technical systems thinking, Matthew will discuss how contemporary organisational challenges cut across physical environments, digital technologies, organisational goals, culture and capability development.

The keynote will argue that organisational psychologists are well placed to act as a hub and convening discipline, using their technical knowledge, methods and facilitation skills to support system-level change.

The session will conclude by considering how organisational psychologists can help government organisations remain resilient, inclusive and effective into the future.
