Future Workplace researchers present hybrid work study at EAOHP 2026

Members of the Future Workplace research team were delighted to take part in the 17th Conference of the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology, held in Helsinki, Finland.

Helen Hughes presented our paper, co-authored with Professor Matthew Davis and Afshan Iqbal, which explored the day-to-day experiences of hybrid work using audio diaries and a sociotechnical perspective.

The study highlighted the temporal and socially contingent nature of autonomy within hybrid work, showing how experiences of flexibility and control vary across contexts and over time.

The paper formed part of a symposium on the changing nature of work, and we would like to thank all the symposium participants for the stimulating discussions and insights.

EAOHP 2026 provided a fantastic opportunity to share our work and engage with colleagues from across the occupational health psychology community.
